Thinking out loud...

THOUGHTS ON HOW TO PROCEED FROM HERE TO START COMMUNITY:

September 2010: Visit Korashan and Tamera to feel and experience these communities. Go to Pyrenees to feel the land.

Make a small documentary of this to show to people wanting to join community. This is also a film for councils when we try to setup an England based community. It gives councils a clear idea of what the community will be like.

Community in England:

Buy land in Glastonbury area because the energy is strongest there. Feels like the new Jerusalem.

Build big wooden lodge and make a circle of wooden cabins. Insulated by strawbales.

Lodge is for communal lounge, kitchen, dining area, healing rooms.

Build outdoor bath-house using grey water. Outdoor baths and showers (and indoor for winter).

In the wooden cabins are people’s individual living spaces.

The area inbetween the cabins is a grass circle with some trees.

Behind the big lodge is the area where we grow food and where the horses, goats and chickens are kept. Food growth is based on permaculture.

All energy is generated by Tesla magnetic energy, wind turbines and photo-voltaic panels.

Source of income:

The community also serves as a foster organisation for children. These children come for 3 months as part of a healing program after which they can either be placed in permanent foster care or stay with us. They get in-house education (like the children of the community), receive counseling and healing and stay in a cabin with a family. This is our source of income and an important contribution to the welfare of children who have had a difficult start in life.

Financing the community:

I believe with the right presentation of the plan, we should be able to receive a hefty funding from the government.

The lodge and school will be built by the community members and the cabins will be prefab. We live in those cabins while all other facilities are built.

Plan of Action – timeline:

- September: Chrissy, Linda and David to visit Portugal. Chrissy filming.

- October to March: Looking for land, drawing plans, designing houses (it is too cold to build during these months). Chrissy edits the film - subsequently we approach government to present our plan. Planning permissions subsequently.

- We recruite community members and determine how much money will come in and how much we will need through sponsoring and government funding.

- March: Buy land, start building and follow courses to work with children.

- Let the creation begin!!!!!!!
